Derry and Strabane Council services change to summer opening hours

Derry City and Strabane District Council has announced a transition to summer opening hours for various services, starting on Monday, March 30. This change is designed to enhance accessibility for residents and visitors in Northern Ireland/The North as the warmer months approach.

The updated summer hours will affect several key services, including cemeteries and recycling sites. Specifically, the City Cemetery, Ballyoan Cemetery, and Altnagelvin Cemetery will operate under these new hours. Residents are encouraged to verify the specific opening times for these locations, as they may differ from the winter schedule.

In addition to the cemeteries, recycling sites throughout the Derry and Strabane area will also follow the new summer hours. The council has indicated that this adjustment is part of a broader initiative aimed at improving service delivery and accommodating the expected increase in usage of these facilities during the summer season. Community members are urged to take advantage of these services and stay informed about the revised schedules.

By implementing these summer hours, the council aims to support residents in making the most of the warmer weather while utilizing local facilities.
