The Troubles ended. The nightmare stopped. It faded – and even now, I still pinch myself.

For many of us, life was a constant world of fear and tension. Murder. Bombs. Division. Armed patrols. Helicopters overhead – a sound that still lingers long after the conflict ended.

We all carry a story. Many people spent years thinking the same thing – I would never do an interview. This history will die with me, and that will be that.

This page exists for that moment. This is the place where you take your time and write your lived experience of the Troubles, privately and without pressure. What you share here will be read, and when you are finished, you decide what happens next.

    Important

Your personal details will never be shared. Your story will not be published, quoted, or used in any form unless you explicitly allow it. ATL respects the trust involved in sharing personal history and will never expose or identify anyone without clear consent.
