Funeral arrangements have been confirmed for a father and son who were found dead at a home near Ballygawley, in a tragedy that has deeply affected the local community.
The two men have been named as James Grimes, 85, and his son Emmett Grimes, 54.
Emergency services were called to a property on Garvaghy Road near Ballygawley earlier this week after the deaths were discovered.
Officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) attended the scene and carried out enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
The road was temporarily closed while forensic examinations took place.
Police have since confirmed that, following post-mortem examinations, the deaths are not being treated as suspicious.
Funeral arrangements
Funeral details released by the family confirm that Requiem Mass for both men will take place at St Malachy’s Church in Ballymacilroy.
The service is scheduled for 11am on Saturday, after which both father and son will be laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery.
In the days leading up to the funeral, both men will be reposing at their home on Garvaghy Road, allowing family, friends and members of the community to pay their respects.
Messages of sympathy have been shared widely since the news emerged, with many in the Ballygawley area expressing shock and sadness at the deaths.
Local representatives and community members have offered condolences to the wider Grimes family as preparations continue for the funeral.
In rural communities such as Ballygawley, tragedies of this nature are often felt deeply, with neighbours and friends coming together to support grieving families.
The funeral service this weekend is expected to draw large numbers of mourners as the community gathers to remember James and Emmett Grimes.
