On This Day – 11 People Lost Their Lives In The Troubles

On this day, 11 lives were lost in the Troubles.
We remember these victims today.
These were our mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, friends and neighbours. We remember them all - Catholics and Protestants and those of no faith at all.

Location: Armagh
Organisation Responsible: Loyalist Volunteer Force (LVF) Shot, at his workplace, council depot, Duke Street, Portadown, County Armagh.

William Thompson
Date of Death: 21 April 1989
Location: Belfast
Organisation Responsible: Irish Republican Army (IRA) Shot from passing car while driving his Shankill black taxi, Crumlin Road, Belfast.

Harold Henry
Date of Death: 21 April 1987
Location: Derry
Organisation Responsible: Irish Republican Army (IRA) Shot at his home, The Loup, near Moneymore, County Derry. Contractor to British Army (BA) / Royal Ulster Constabulary (RUC).
