Shots Fired At East Belfast Home In Early Hours Attack
Police are investigating after shots were fired at a house in east Belfast in what is being treated as a serious firearms incident.
The attack happened in the Tamery Pass area of the city at around 8:30pm, when gunfire was directed at a residential property.
Damage was caused to both the front and rear windows of the house, highlighting the scale of the attack and raising immediate concerns for anyone inside at the time.
What makes this incident particularly serious is that people were believed to have been inside the property when the shots were fired. Despite that, no injuries have been reported, something police have described as fortunate given the circumstances.
The PSNI has launched an investigation and is now working to establish a motive for the shooting. At this stage, no arrests have been made.
Incidents involving firearms at residential homes carry clear risks, not just for those targeted but for neighbouring properties in built-up areas. The attack has raised concern locally, particularly given the potential consequences had the situation unfolded differently.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information, including dashcam or doorbell footage, to come forward as enquiries continue.
The focus now remains on identifying those responsible and determining the circumstances behind the attack, as police continue their investigation into the shooting.
